Rogers contributed to psychology by introducing a form a humanistic therapy called Client Centered Therapy. This therapy focused on the person not the problem. Also Humanists assume that people must be looked at using a holistic approach, which means to look at the whole person. If you try and break down behavior than the whole person is being lost through this reductionist process. This idea contributed to psychology, now we realize that problems do not usually have a specific cause you must look at the whole person. However Rogers approach does have some criticism. Rogers believed that everybody was born good and healthy and everybody wants to be the best they can be - actualizing tendency.
