Introduction: This study is concerned with the work of Morris Rosenberg (1979) who studied the work of Bannister and Agnew (1977). They argued that younger children tended to describe and differentiate themselves using physical features, activities and behaviours, while older children rely more on psychological characteristics. Morris Rosenberg researched these ideas, which suggested that individuals change the focus of their self-descriptions as their age changes. He tested a sample of 8-18 year old children selected at random from 25 schools in the U.S.A.
