The popular Australian television drama series 'The Secret Life of Us' marketed toward the 16-30 age group has caused a degree of moral panic amongst organisations which promote drug and alcohol awareness such as the Australian Drug Foundation (ADF). The idea of moral panic can obscure the role of other factors involved in anxieties about social dangers, such as political campaigns.
