We, as moral humans give each other privacy therefore we should give a dedicated amount of space away from people for the animals to live their own lives away from the public's gaze. We should also introduce some other members of its species for the animal to relate to instead of its solitary confinement. This at least would make the animal look less of a prisoner as a guest. The only way we will ever win the animal's trust is to retune our behaviour, we are quiet and considerate in the library but why should we be boisterous in the zoo, this only demeans us and degrades us.
