Aside from the vastly enhanced quality of the photos themselves, and the opportunity to delete photos that turn out bad, the pictures can be downloaded onto a PC using a USB or serial connection, or by using memory cards, which can also store hundreds of photos on an object not much larger than a fifty pence. Once on computer they can be edited using photo software and emailed to friends and family. The availability of these complementary goods made digital cameras more desirable, this caused a shift outwards of the entire demand schedule, meaning more is demanded at each and every price. This outward shift could also have been caused by substitute goods (goods which would have been purchased as the next best thing to digital cameras, e.g. if the price of chicken rose, people may demand more fish) ...
