The focus of this essay is on the traditionalists perspective therefore the following definition from the European Commission, is an appropriate starting point. 'Globalization can be defined as the process by which markets and production in different countries are becoming increasingly interdepent due to the dynamics of trade in goods and services and flows of capital and technology.
