... There is considerable dissension in the ranks of VHEL. This discontent stems from the fact that the company has gone through two identifiable organizational changes. In 1985 Harvey decentralized the company, unhappy with his decision he reorganized once more. By 1992 dissatisfaction still existed. Mr. Harvey also feels that the company is lacking the direction that he once provided. As his role lessened the firm became less focused and began to lose direction. This issue highlights the importance of finding the right successor for Mr. Harvey. Although Brian Harvey has stepped down from his role as president he continues to monitor the company's affairs. He realises that he will be unable to retire completely until the issue of succession is resolved. He also wants to inject good quality direction back into VHEL.
