So as we will know later on , top mangers are responsible for setting plans , so they are expected to create a vision for the firm , a vison is more than a goal ; it's the larger explanation of why the orgainzation exists and where it's trying to head . a vision gives the organization a sense of purpose and value to unite workers in a common destiny. Manageing an organization without a common vision can be counterproductive . it's like motivating veryone in a row boat to get really excited about getting somewhere, but not giving them any direction . as a result the boat just keeps heading off in different directions rather than speeding toward an agreed-upon goal.
