But, their frequent use by vested interests has brought the issue of their overall utility under debate. This debate has been furthered by the recent judgments of Supreme Court, Kerala High Court and Calcutta High Court banning Strikes by government employees, banning bandhs and banning rallies, respectively. While the bandhs, strikes and rallies are a means of expressing the grievances of a certain section of people, they have got certain negative affects as well as they affect the fundamental rights of other citizens.
