Another reason to the non-decorated rooms is that there is a strong belief in both schools that the use of colours and pictures are a distraction. The outside world will also make the children not play attention in class as they may look outside and focus their mind away from the lesson. This illustrates the lack of freedom within the school. The attitude towards the educational system is shown clearly by both schools; the rules are purely based on what the teachers think is right and what they want, not the children. The schools are both run by male principles; they are strongly similar as they have very parallel ideas to each other and use the same educational system.
