The monologue is written from a young girls perspective, which shows that a females opinion is more accepted these days. However the man still seems to think he can play the two woman (Sharon and his wife, Jessie) by deceiving them both and taking advantage. However the wife seems to realise this and makes sure she is in control of the situation. This suggests that even though the men think they have the upperhand they do not. Sharon seems unaware of the teacher's possible motives and is portrayed to be very innocent, for example when Jessie mentions themes of a sexual nature, Sharon's response is so; 'I didn't know where to look!'
