For instance, there was a completely different focus in Italy during this time as opposed to views in Northern Europe where the focus was still a lot more on religion. The humanists would have advocated teaching new material faster than the Catholic church, because the humanists encouraged people to think for themselves whereas the traditional Catholic church wanted believes to be as reliant on the church itself more. Thus, a better and more diversified education would help further the humanist's goals a lot better than the goals that the Catholic Church may have had. By viewing so many documents written by humanists, we will undoubtedly be receiving a somewhat skewed version of the changes within education that are taking place, because they may view it in a different light than the average person.
