... longer lasting relationships. Arguments with friends teach us that sometimes we are wrong and have to face up to it or that one should forgive and forget. At home, many of us are lucky enough to learn what it is to love someone. We learn that although personal relationships have many high points, there are inevitably arguments and problems to be overcome. Siblings teach us how to share. We also gain from siblings in that we learn to share not only material things, for example pocket money and bedrooms, but also attention, parental or otherwise. We learn from them that we have to be respectful of others needs. Relationships, both in the family and with our peers, educate us in human nature and prepare us for future friendships and relationships, be it in the work place or on a more personal basis.
