This idea was made obviously absurd through a walk of the neighborhood where families were outdoors, gardening, washing their cars, and children were playing with each other riding bicycles and playing basketball in their driveway. The other fears the white families had, were discredited by interviews of the local police chief who stated that there was no rise in crime and by the steadiness of property values. The white families silly claims extend from a lack of knowledge. Rather than taking the time to learn about the actual affects integration has on their small suburb they were more happy to stick to their close-minded ignorance and claim "their goes the neighborhood."
