Parents generally have a misconception that if their children can enter those schools, their children could receive good education. On the other hand, it is a tradition in Hong Kong, that children who can enter EMI schools are smarter students. I asked my relatives who have children; they hope that their children could enter EMI schools in the future. Even, my parents agree with this idea. That's why EMI schools are so appealing!
