Furthermore Muhammad had led a simple a life and many people had accused the Umayyads of forgetting the true meaning of Islam especially the Abbasids. When the Abbasids had taken power though I thought they were not a great improvement from the Umayyads. The Abbasids adopted Persian customs and they shut themselves behind opulent buildings.
