The Catholics objected to the brutal use of Dragonnades and the Revocation provoked a rebellion by the Huguenots, the revolt of the Camisards. Louis, by the Revocation and his actions against the Huguenots threatened his absolutism as it stirred the opposition of the nobles, Parliaments, Huguenots and Jansenists.
