The German people had be told they would achieve a glorious victory but when it soon became clear they had lost the war Germany erupted with unrest not just because of this but due to economic discontent and war weariness. This period became known as the German revolution or the revolution from below. This further built pressure on the Kaiser.The revolution from below was complete chaos within Germany and serious trouble began in late October when sailors mutinied, refusing to leave the port of Kiel.
