One of the men was Adolf Hitler, the other was Joseph Stalin. No one could have foreseen that twenty years after the meeting that never was, Hitler and Stalin would preside over war ideologies, their final struggle would tear Europe apart, lead to the deaths of millions and reshape the political landscape of the whole world.
