Blitzkrieg was a key to Germanys quick and early success of the Second World War. In April 1940 Germany launched Blitzkrieg against Denmark and Norway. Both of these countries were defeated early and quickly. The way in which Blitzkrieg worked was the Germans would firstly attack from the air using aeroplanes and stuka dive-bombers. These dive-bombers would bomb key enemy targets, for example the enemy headquarters, bridges, crossroads, railway junctions, centres of communication and even ammunition and petrol dumps. The bomber pilots were learnt to strike with great accuracy. This way it would make it hard for Germanys allies to fight back and move troops.
