Leibniz, being a man clearly of many talents, had a comment or theory about nearly everything, but none it may seem stood out larger than his idea of truth and substance, and therefore a good starting point for most when dealing with Leibniz is tempting to begin with his conception of truth. But insofar as Leibniz is a metaphysician, it is equally tempting to begin with his account of the nature of reality and in particular substance and matter. Less common, but perhaps equally likely starting points might lie in Leibniz the mathematician, the theologian or the physicist.
