Augustine, at this point, does not quite understand what he is searching for, but he trusts that if he seeks first, God will seek for him as well. We can see how socio-culturalist, Durkheim, would disagree, "The sociocultural view shows that religion can be seen as a significant form of cultural behavior rather than as something either revealed from on high that is 'true,' or something made up by the prescientific mind that is 'false'" (Paden, 44).
