... Delphi tells Socrates that there is no man wiser. "I am wiser than this man; it is likely that neither of us knows anything worthwhile, but he thinks he knows something when he does not, whereas when I do not know, neither do I think I know..."(Apology 21d). Here in the Apology Socrates was just told that he is the wisest by the God at Delphi but in addition to the god telling Socrates he is the wisest, Socrates still searches out with reason to back up the Gods statement. However, in the Euthyphro, during the discussion of piety, Socrates talks about honoring and pleasing the Gods by acting out what the Gods wish of us.
