... Socrates was a man who lived in ancient Greece and was known to be one of the wisest philosophers of all time. There was one aspect that people refused to understand about Socrates: The bottom line was that he was a man who really knew nothing but he questioned what he did not know in order to gain knowledge. The strength behind his wisdom lay in the fact that he was not too proud to admit his own ignorance when he did not know something. His willingness to learn and his eagerness to question made him one of the wisest and most despised men in Athens, Greece. He was accused of corrupting the mind of the youth and other ridiculous crimes that had no basis. As a result of his "crimes", a trial was held and he was sentenced to death.
