... Act, 1916. This peace of legislation was amended in 2001 by the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud offences) Act. The act's purpose was to amend the law relating to stealing and relating offences and their investigation and trial; to give the forces of law to provisions of the convention on the protection of the European communities' financial interests done at Brussels on the 26th of July 1995 and the three protocols to that convention; and to provide for consequential and relating matters. For the purposes of discussing Stephen's criminal liability I will be analysing part 2 of the Act, which relates to Theft and relating offences. There are two offences that have taken place.
