I them stumbled upon Andrew Moore's book "The premier and the secret army" this book opened my eyes to how intricate the dismissal of Jack Lang really is, having far greater standing than simply being dismissed on the grounds of "illegal" activity. This is when real interest grew. Now Jack Lang had greater implications, it was now an issue about socialism, fascism, possible civil wars, the old guard and the new guard. Conspiracies. It was difficult to grasp onto the idea that such things took place in Australia. I decided in expanding my question to "Lang was right", this I felt gave me greater freedom to discuss the issues within the multifaceted topic that the historians of my choice have brought-up.
