Material Facts of the Case The case concerns the pay of eight instructors, one man and seven women and teachers working within the former local government area of Strathclyde region in special schools. Teachers are paid much more than the instructors though they have teaching qualifications and the instructors do not. Some instructors though are qualified, but the minimum qualifications required of teachers are higher than those required from qualified instructors. The seven women claimed that, although lacking formal teaching qualifications, they were employed on like work with male teachers working in the same special schools and one man instructor claimed he was employed on like work with his female teaching comparators.
