In fact, even if a court proceeding takes place the two solicitors will try to come to an agreement to settle out of court on behalf of their customers. If the dispute cannot be settled, the next stage is mediation. Mediation is where the two parties appoint an independent person who will not decide the dispute, but who will work with the parties to enable them to reach a settlement.
