During this the trainee practices drafting pleadings for use in court, negotiation and advocacy; much the same a solicitors Legal Practice Course. This course is run by mainly the Court School of Law and six other bodies. All barristers must then join one of four Inns of Court where they will attend a residential course. After the student has passed this course, they will become a pupil to a barrister where they will effectively follow the work of the barrister for 1 year. However out of around 1800 applicants, there are only 850 places available. Q.
