Aquinas' idea is appealing to think that we have some sort of governing and guidelines over moral behaviour, particularly for Christians who see it as God's intervention. How far can man be ignorant of the natural law, which, as St. Paul says, is written in the human heart? Natural Law does not argue that morality can be based on reason alone but that reason from God is a starting point. The natural law approach, provided it is correctly applied has a predicted action and the assessment prior to the action is unlikely to then be overturned afterwards. Natural Law can also claim the advantage that it is rationally, not emotionally based so does not waver as the feelings of the person concerned change and the issue of wrong remains fixed.
