Gutierre, now out from prison, is able to visit Mencía in her sleep. He awakes her from the window and pretends to be Prince Enrique, adopting his voice. As a result, Mencía addresses him thinking that he is the prince. She begs him to go away in case Gutierre might come - this climax spawns Gutierre's jealousy and confirms his suspicions ...
