... the past few years has been on the rise and this is because of the fact that women became aware of their rights and some were brave enough to try to exercise those rights but they had to pay a high price-their life. The men treat the women here like chattel and property and the flimsiest of rumors is enough to have a woman killed by the men in the name of honour. One extreme case of honour killing was when a man had a dream of his wife's adultery. In a society where murders occur based on dreams, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights can never hope to see the light of day. The women are never given a chance to explain their side of the story, and many even die not knowing the reason.
