This was to prove a rather abortive partnership for the two men, with Burke leaving Hamilton's employment six years later as the result of a difference of opinion. However, Burke soon managed to find work in a similar capacity with the Marquis of Rockingham in 1765, serving a man who was shortly to become Prime Minister.
