The third section will examine the success of Sweden's drug policy but through evaluation and details of failures will argue that in reality under the surface it has not been that much of a great success. This first section will look at the drug policies of first the Netherlands and then that of Sweden. Drug policy for the Netherlands is generally characterised as liberal, pragmatic and rational. The aim for the Dutch drug policy is not ridding society of drugs all together as this is seen as very much impossible.
