T2 = 40 T79 then as another example = 78 + 79 + 80 + 89 + 99 = 425 This equation can be written algebraically: Tx = x + (x +1) + (x -1) + (x +10) + (x +20) Tx = 5x +30 I will now need to test my equation in order to prove it is correct: Tx = 5x + 30 T54 = (5 x 54) +30 = 270 +30 = 300 And if I calculate T54 manually: 53+54+55+64+74=300 My equation works. However this is only on a grid length 10. If I enlarge the grid to say 15 columns this equation does not work, as illustrated below.
