His will was to eliminate poverty and illiteracy, to provide quality medical care and equal opportunities to all. In fifty years of independence, what has the Indian democracy achieved? We shall now have a look at how well was the Indian democracy implemented and how was this democratic rule respected. Second we shall see too what extent is the Indian society egalitarian.
